The post-pandemic narrative kept wanting this story to end: offices re-open, WeWork implodes, coworking fades into a footnote.
It didn’t happen. Not at Indie Desk. Our membership held flat through 2021, crept back through 2022, and passed the 2019 mark in early 2023. What shifted is who walks in: fewer early-stage founders, more solo consultants, small legal teams, and bilingual staffing agencies that need a real LA address.
The part nobody wanted to write: the people who come back every day want the opposite of what the 2019 coworking boom sold. They want a quiet floor, a door that locks, a printer that works, and a founder who remembers their name. That part didn’t change.
